Black and peacock hopper

This fly is a copy of the famous Deadly popper, minus its foam post .

Fished under a bung or a deadly popper it does well when fish are cruising in the top layers..

At the end of each drift in the reservoir ,retrieve the flies very slowly stopping often and tweaking the surface fly to entice a take ,this sometimes has the effect of the trout lashing out at the surface fly, however you must be sure it has the surface fly in its mouth ,if not another tweak may do the business and sometimes the fish are happier to take the sunken fly underneath the popper.
